I bought frames! Inspired by sfgirlbybay's redesign of her living room I embraced the Ikea Ribba frame and have placed them where I think I might want them. Now I just need to find what goes inside (oh and after months of thinking I would make the deer into a pillow, I followed my mom's advice and framed it. She was right, it is better framed).

Mom's House: Middle of Summer Update
My mom's house is absolutely exploding with life proving, once again, that drought tolerant doesn't have to mean minimal or modern (although those are very nice too). She specializes in indigenous california plantings that need little water and can take the hot sun. What I love is the the garden is still so lush and has height--so often with xeriscaping the gardens are like low sculptures but don't create spaces within the garden.

Mom's House

I was a good daughter and had a visit with mom on mother's day. She designs beautiful drought tolerant gardens for southern california and has been applying her skills to her own garden. It is so easy to foget to apply our talents to ourselves--it was so nice to sit and enjoy the love she put into her own garden!

Just a peek
Here is a peek into my living room. It is monday, I have the day off and I've been sitting at my table on the computer. I realized how lovely the tulips my sweetie gave me for valentine's day were looking in the sunshine so I took out the camera.
(The glamorous lady in the frames is my mom circa 1975. And yes, I was too lazy to move the toilet paper out of the picture--now that's mundane!)
