The garden is growing

I spent a little bit of time freshening up the garden in Venice and finally got a cushion made that I am in love with. I found some discount sunbrella fabric in this basic striped linen look and had an extra long cushion made for lounging. My garden (which started with tiny plants so that it wouldn't cost a lot or be a huge investment--I think I spent $200 on plants, total) is growing in really nicely. Remember what this place used to look like (here and then here)?

Ah, it's SO nice! Spring in Chicago is depressing… everything here is still brown and dormant. I keep waiting for the trees to get leaves so that everything doesn't look so dead.

I love the seating area. The striped fabric, the faded blue metal chair, the gorgeous blooms growing overhead… all of it is fantastic!

love the painted walls, such a nice backdrop. good job with the green thumb! Looks so nice.

Gravel and cement pavers in the middle? Whats your plan. I'm so done with dirt right now - I can't do anymore dust in the summer...

Thanks everyone--Morgan, I want to kill myself with the amount of dirt that gets tracked inside, but for the moment there aren't a lot of affordable options. For now I just sweep often.

All that beautiful color is the best eye candy I've seen in a while! ♥

laure, your garden looks amazing! i love that aqua/turquoise color...i'm envious of how clean your space is. we're still in the middle of "hoarding-hell": piles of scrap wood everywhere, unused furniture stored under tarps, random bags of soil and extra pots. i'm saving your images as inspiration and proof that it can be done!

I LOVE it! It reminds me of my patio that i just re-did...we used the same color on your wall...(or close to it) but we placed it onto corrugated steel instead...
you can see it on my blog on my home tour section.
by the way, is it easy to have a deck? I would worry about rain and mold underneath...is that not the case? just curious. Because it's beautiful. :)
