Getting into the spirit of the season

Over the weekend I had a chance to catch up with two of my oldest friends. We sat around eating leftovers, drinking gingerbread ale and working on some simple holiday crafts.

I ended up making this garland out of construction paper and string. I really like how it turned out; sort of like out of focus lights. Now it's above the bed to get us in the holiday mood. You know what I mean.

I might make a bigger one for a christmas tree now that I ran across this picture in Martha Stewart:

Gingerbread Ale??? Where'd you get that? I want some. :)

I need to come up with some holiday decorations for my place... my tiny 12" white tree is a bit lonely.

I love the garland! What a lovely simple idea.. I have a doorway that would look perfect in, thanks for the inspiration!

sparkle you gotta lay down $8 at whole foods for the good stuff. it was good: less gingerbready than I expected but still pretty smooth and season-y.
