Make your own Perfume

OK, I am officially PBTeen Obsessed. I mean, they have directions for how to make your own perfume! Where was this when I was 12? (Oh yeah, the internet didn't exist yet). Anyway, I want to try their Full-Bloom Perfume:

Ingredients:
2 cups of cut flower blossoms
2 cups of water
cheesecloth (a lightweight cotton cloth used in cooking)

Directions:
1. Collect 2 cups of freshly cut flower blossoms. Look for super fragrant flowers like lavender, lilac, orange blossoms and honeysuckle.
2. Place the cheesecloth over a bowl so that the edges hang over (you can find cheesecloth at most grocery stores).
3. Place the flower blossoms on top of the cheesecloth and then pour 2 cups of water over the flowers, so that they're completely covered.
4. Cover the bowl and let the flowers and water sit overnight.
5. The next day, use the edges of cheesecloth to pull it out of the bowl and gently squeeze the scented water into a small pot.
6. Simmer the water until about 1/4 cup is left.
7. Cool and place your new perfume into a small bottle.
(Perfume bottles pictured are from Aunt Judy's Attic)

Let us know if it works! If you can't use it as perfume maybe as linen water to spray on towels and sheets? I've been looking into making the spray with essential oil though.

Aren't you supposed to put alcohol in it to make it evaporate quicker? Or make it more fun?
