The thunder and lightening was so incredible on friday night that I got out of bed to watch it from the living room. I guess that was a good thing because when I got back to the bedroom it was raining inside, on my bed and down the walls. Arg.
After totally melting down for so many obvious reasons (uh did I mention they found mold in my apartment last year and a 3 week remediation ended up taking 3 months. 3 months of me couch surfing and developping a crazy case of insomnia) the silver lining is that i found a great sublet around the corner for the same price as the 'motel' that my landlord was offering to put me up in. This time around it should only take 2 weeks to repair the damage. We'll see. They have to rip out the old drywall and replace the ceiling (oh and fix the roof?), dry the walls out and then re-drywall, paint, etc.
Oh did I mention my birthday is friday. Ugh.

I'm really sorry about what happened to your apartment! I hope the new sublet is working out well for you.
Storms are awesome to watch but the aftermath can really suck. A couple of weeks ago we had a huge one in Chicago and a lot of people I know were without power for a week, with like a foot of water in their basements.
