Confiture de Figues
Before I left I used up some of the figs from my tree to make jam. The recipe was pretty much as simple as you can get (it's from here)
Recipe for Fig Jam
1 kilo of figs
750 grams of sugar
Juice from 1 lemon
Peel the figs and quarter them. Put them in a big pot and mix them with the sugar. Let the mixture sit for 2 hours then put it on the stove, squeeze in the lemon and bring to a boil. Let simmer for 5-7 minutes. Then spoon it into prepared pots.
We put some small glasses into boiling water to kill off any germs and then put the jam inside and covered with saran wrap immediately. These should keep in the fridge a month or so.
