I'll always remember Paris...

My parents lived in Paris when I was younger and we lived in an area that, at the time, was considered undesirable. Since then it has become very desirable. So they sold the apartment a couple of years ago along with 3 extra rooms that I lived in when I was in Paris on exchange. An interior designer named Paola Navone bought it and basically knocked out all the walls and made it shine.

It's taken a while because my dad and I snuck in 2 years ago to see the construction.

My dad saw a spread of it in a French magazine recently and emailed me the pictures of the finished apartment.

I looked up the designer and found that among other things, she made this teapot for conran and has a short bio online.

What do you think of the space?

I love what she's done, except the kitchen is a wee bit too metallic for my taste.

My California boy arrived home last night and plans to help me spruce up our place while he's here on his Christmas break.

One more quarter and he'll have to go out and face the real world as a graphic designer! No more long vacations for awhile, I'm afraid.

I know what you mean! Overall I think the magazine spread might not do the space justice, there's something heavy about the whole thing that might just be the images.

Even after having worked for the last 6 years I still have that feeling of uh oh here comes the real world!

Good luck to your son, I'm sure he'll do great!

the kitchen and dining area are amazing... strange to have the chairs and sofa lined up like that - it reminds me of a hotel lobby... an incredibly gorgeous hotel lobby, but still. i absolutely love the space though - very different.
