Happy New Year!

Here's to a new year filled with beautiful lighting, charming architectural details, creative projects galore and, of course, friends, family and good health.

Hope you get to spend some time at home, feeling at home.

Some of the things I'd like to do this year (notice I'm not calling anything a resolution):

•Go to the flower mart downtown just to look, not to stock up for an event or anything, just to take it all in.

•Revamp/simplify/organize At Home At Home

•Take myself on more walks to help keep perspective

•Try cooking some new things

•Design comfortable, simple, beautiful living spaces

•Go to Hong Kong, drive across the U.S., see Yellowstone, go back to Paris

•Get published in a magazine

What are you looking forward to accomplishing in the new year? Or even this week? Get anything simple done over the holidays?

How about finding a place to stash your stuff/ sleep that you wouldn't have to vacate every, humm, 3 months?

Last year I bought two baking books by Dorie Greenspan, Paris Sweets and the humongous Baking, and set out to bake every single thing in it. Not so successful with that thought, but I think I'll continue on with it.

I also want this year to be a craftier year, like sew some of the things from my Amy Butler book. I just need to focus on one idea at a time or I won't get anything done.
